Nursing Home

The project was developed based on the urban planning concept. The building structure divides the site into two outdoor areas: a publicly accessible plaza and a private open space for visitors to the social center. Coming from the village center, the public plaza leads to the main entrance of the center, the day center, the individual medical practices, and the physiotherapy practice. These practices can operate completely independently, as each has direct access on the ground floor. The physiotherapy practice also has direct access to the common area.

A green buffer zone precedes the examination rooms, and a green facade made of vertical wooden slats provides additional privacy. The administrative offices and mobile services are located at the rear of the property. The mobile services are directly accessible via Jörg-Kölderer-Weg, and covered parking spaces are located directly in front. In addition to the entrance via the foyer, the day care center can also be reached via this entrance. It is primarily oriented towards the quiet inner courtyard, whose open spaces offer opportunities for walking and sitting.

The café, with its expanded area, is directly adjacent to the foyer. The kitchen is directly connected to this area. From the café, terraces overlooking the public square and in the inner courtyard can also be accessed. The public staircase leading from the foyer takes you to the upper floor, where the residential units are located. This staircase is larger to accommodate the transport of beds and also features a correspondingly large elevator. Another staircase serves both as a required emergency exit and as an internal connection to the kitchen and laundry facilities. On the upper floor, you arrive at the common areas. The nursing stations located there provide access to each individual residential unit.

The common area is further enhanced by two terraces that allow for sunlight from both the south and the west. One terrace offers a view across the public square to the village center, while the other overlooks the garden and the surrounding landscape. The low-rise buildings, extensive use of wood, and landscaping are designed to create a pleasant atmosphere and provide residents with a high quality of life.

The compact design with its efficient load distribution results in simple structural engineering, making this structure particularly well-suited for timber construction.
